Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a group of progressive lung diseases, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema, characterized by persistent airflow limitation and breathing difficulties. Chronic bronchitis is a type of COPD characterized by inflammation and narrowing of the airways, resulting in excessive mucus production, cough, and shortness of breath. This paper discusses the clinical manifestations associated with chronic bronchitis and the relationships between the pathophysiologic processes and the clinical manifestations.
