Dr. Volkow is the director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). NIDA is a federal agency that is responsible for conducting and supporting research on drug abuse and addiction. Dr. Volkow is a world-renowned expert on drug abuse and addiction. She has a deep understanding of the opioid epidemic and has been a leading voice in the fight to address it.
