Working Thesis: Based on your reading of the novel Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe and on our discussion, this week on character, craft a working thesis.
• Again, your thesis may address any character or element of the novel, but as we are focusing on characters this week, work to include specific characters in your thesis. (The characters I have chosen are Obierika (the foil) and Okonkwo ( the protagonist).

Working Thesis: In Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, the contrasting character traits of Obierika and Okonkwo serve to highlight the complex and Study bay academic papers grad writers research prospectd perspectives on masculinity, tradition, and change within the Ibo culture.

I could explore how Obierika’s more thoughtful and introspective approach to tradition and change contrasts with Okonkwo’s more aggressive and violent approach.

I could research and incorporate additional outside sources to provide more context and analysis on the themes and motifs present in the novel.
