Email & Informal Presentation via video. Due February 3, 2023, at 11:59 pm

Team Assignment Select a group of 3 to 6 people. This will likely be the same group you work
with for the term project.
Working in your group, prepare a business email (see sample email format
below and in Blackboard Assessment Brief) to me, providing information you have researched
regarding some of the business customs the country that you have selected.
This email is to be a minimum of 500 words to a maximum of 1000 words and
submitted as an assignment in Blackboard Assessment Brief by 1 group member with your team
charter. Only 1 person is to submit the group documents. You must also create
and use a group forum in the class discussion board. I will monitor this for
engagement. When you create the forum, you must identify your group ie
name of country you have chosen and include all group members full names.
You will continue to use only your groups thread to share information etc.
Each of you must submit the self & peer evaluation through the assignment in
Blackboard Assessment Brief. So, 1 team charter with the group email submission done by one
member in the group. One self & peer assessment per student submitted
individually. As you can see from the rubric below team collaboration is a huge
part of this assignment.
Everyone in the group will receive the same mark. Exception if you don’t
receive a favorable peer evaluation and I see if some individuals have
contributed more and if some members have added little or nothing to the
assignment through your group’s discussion board posts and their grades will
reflect this.
You must also submit the presentation through the assignment tool in
Blackboard Assessment Brief. Only one per group. Ideally submitted by the same group member
who submitted the email.
Details: Every country has their own “cultural” rights and wrongs. As office
professionals, it is important that you recognize, accept, and behave
appropriately when working with individuals from different cultures. The
purpose of this assignment is to work as a “team” to learn about the business
customs of a different country. You will then share your findings with me in the
form of an email (one per group) and a short video presentation.
In addition to learning about different cultures, this assignment gives students
the opportunity to work in a team setting. Some students HATE teamwork; I’ve
heard this many times before. That said, as we discussed in class, teamwork is
essential for success in today’s workplace. This is a safe place to practice and a
great opportunity to get to know your classmates. If someone isn’t
participating well, reach out to THEM nicely – not to me
Consider the following:
• Dress code
• Use of names/titles
• Gender roles
• Normal work schedule
• How do people greet each other (hand shake, kiss, embrace)
• Public behaviour
• Entertainment protocol
• Gift giving
• Business card presentation
• Anything else you deem to be interesting.
Presentation of
findings
Your group will present the highlights of your findings in an informal 2-minute
presentation submitted through blackboard using the assignment #3 tab.
