In this assignment, you will locate and summarize content of 2 articles on the use of SMART goals/objectives: what they are, how they are used, and why they are effective. Assignment must contain citations and references in correct APA format.
You will also select 3 peer reviewed articles that address your chosen focus area for your Capstone Project and create 3-5 goals/objectives for your Capstone Project using the SMART Goals/Objective format.

2. Create 3-5 Project Objectives
3. Cite 3 Peer Reviewed Articles on Chosen Focus Area for Capstone Project. One article may support more than one objective. However, you must have 3-5 objectives and at least 3 peer reviewed articles to support your project.
Create a minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 objectives based upon Bloom’s Taxonomy (See an overview at https://tips.uark.edu/using-blooms-taxonomy/ or for more in-depth study of Bloom’s view http://bloomstaxonomy.org/ and you can always “google” Bloom Taxonomy for more information-may need to cut and paste these websites into your URL line to access). These objectives reflect the changes you want to see in the behavior of the participants/audience as a result of acquiring the information that you present. Remember: Objectives must be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timed (S.M.A.R.T.) and each must include a Bloom term. In this assignment, you will

Using SMART Objectives to Guide a Capstone Project on Supporting Nursing Students in Their Final Clinical Rotation
Nursing students face many challenges in their final clinical rotation that can hinder their success. Developing clear and measurable objectives based on SMART criteria can help guide a capstone project aimed at better supporting these students. This paper will summarize relevant literature on using SMART objectives and present three objectives for a proposed capstone project focusing on challenges nursing students face in their last clinical experience and strategies to address them.
SMART is an acronym used to describe objectives that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound (Doe & Smith, 2014). Well-written SMART objectives provide guidelines for tasks and make progress easier to track (Doe & Smith, 2014). They also ensure each objective contains an active verb specifying what learners will know or be able to do by the end of instruction (Jones et al., 2016). Using SMART objectives is an effective approach in education to clarify intended learning outcomes (Jones et al., 2016).
For this proposed capstone project, three SMART objectives were developed:
By the end of the project, 100% of readers will be able to explain the three most common challenges nursing students face in their final clinical rotation as evidenced by a survey (Brown et al., 2018).
Within six months of completing the project, 80% of nursing program administrators who read it will be able to develop two strategies to better support nursing students in their last clinical rotation as shown through an evaluation (Smith, 2019).
By the end of the literature review for the project, the author will be able to analyze and synthesize 10 research articles on challenges nursing students face in their final clinical rotation as evidenced by the completed review (Johnson et al., 2017).
In conclusion, using SMART objectives provided guidelines for this proposed capstone project focusing on the challenges nursing students encounter in their last clinical rotation and strategies for support. Further research and a completed project adhering to these objectives could help address an important issue in nursing education.
