Introduction:
Local Crime Concerns
to Examine Collaborative Efforts
The major issues that affect law
enforcement personnel around the world also affect someone in their local area.
This section affords you an opportunity to assess major crime issues in your
local area as a contrast to those that will be encountered elsewhere.
The history of law enforcement has been
plagued by major issues such as the struggle for civil rights, the war on
drugs, organized crime, and most recently, the global war on terror. Each one
of these major issues brings with them their own challenges for law enforcement
administrators.
