This assignment will assist you in your assessment and diagnosis of clients and will also prepare you for case staffing meetings in the field.

Imagine that you work for a community counseling agency where you participate in weekly case staffing meetings. You have been asked to showcase one of the clients you have been counseling in the next staffing meeting. This is an opportunity to demonstrate your clinical skills and contribute to the team’s understanding of complex cases.

Create a brief scenario of a client with a sexual disorder currently listed in the DSM-5. Ensure the scenario reflects realistic symptoms and challenges that align with the diagnostic criteria.

Create a 10- to 12-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation that includes speaker notes to present the case scenario to your colleagues. The presentation should be clear, concise, and professionally designed to engage your audience.

Include the following in your presentation:

Summarize your client scenario and the symptoms reported. Provide a detailed overview of the client’s background, presenting issues, and any relevant history.

Describe the biological and environmental factors influencing this client. Consider genetic predispositions, medical history, family dynamics, and socio-cultural influences.

Analyze ethical considerations for counseling this client. Explain how to ethically respond to any dilemmas that may arise, such as confidentiality, boundaries, or cultural sensitivity.

Describe 2 to 3 assessment tools you may use with this client and the pros and cons of each. Highlight how these tools align with the client’s specific needs and symptoms.

Justify the use of the treatment approach with research. Provide evidence-based rationale for the chosen therapeutic interventions.

Provide a diagnosis of the presenting problem. Ensure the diagnosis is supported by the DSM-5 criteria and the client’s symptoms.

Propose a treatment plan for this client and include specific interventions to be used. Outline short-term and long-term goals, as well as measurable outcomes.

Cite a minimum of 3 peer-reviewed sources in your assignment. These sources should support your assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
