For this summative assessment, create a presentation that communicates the focus and scope of your project. You may select from multiple venues to explain the details of your plan. You will demonstrate problem-solving skills as you organize the details of your plan.

Define the problem.

As a nursing leader, it is crucial to identify and address patterns that can improve the quality of care and patient outcomes. This presentation aims to communicate the focus and scope of a project aimed at enhancing quality in healthcare settings. The project will be approached through problem-solving skills, and the ethical, legal, and regulatory aspects related to the problem will be anticipated.
I. Define the Problem:
The problem to be addressed revolves around the suboptimal adherence to evidence-based practices in the healthcare setting, leading to variations in patient care and outcomes. This issue is prevalent in our healthcare facility, affecting patient safety, satisfaction, and overall quality of care.

The problem is most evident in the inpatient medical-surgical units of our hospital. Despite having established protocols and guidelines, there is a lack of consistency in their implementation, resulting in preventable complications and adverse events.
