Weekly Reflection Discovery: This is a one to two-page paper demonstrating critical reflections and discussion of what was learned at clinical. The items that need to be included in the paper are: 1. Events: The important events that happened during clinical. Keep this content brief; one paragraph only or you may use single spaced bullet points. 2. Emotions: What emotions were attached to the events of the day? Both from the student perspective and what you witnessed from the patient. 3. Evidence based knowledge: Write 4-5 sentences about what you learned from the reading. Identify a medical diagnosis or treatment the patient received. Research and paraphrase information from a textbook, medical or nursing journal about the chosen topic. (no non-professional academic sources will be accepted). 4. Explain actions and evaluations of the actions as they relate to an event. Write about one event that happened at clinical, how you acted/reacted to the situation and the evaluation of the situation. What good and appropriate things happened or what improvements were needed? You may also include consequences or potential consequences to those actions; both good and bad.
+++++
For the events section, you should focus on the key moments or experiences that stood out to you during your clinical days. Be concise and highlight only the most important aspects of each event. You can use bullet points if that helps organize your thoughts.
Regarding emotions, reflect on how you felt during each event and how you think the patient may have felt. Use descriptive language to convey your emotional state and consider the potential emotional impact on the patient.
For the evidence-based knowledge section, choose a medical diagnosis or treatment that one of your patients received during your clinical days. Research and paraphrase information from a credible nursing or medical journal to demonstrate your understanding of the condition or treatment. Avoid non-professional sources, such as blogs or websites.
Finally, choose one event that happened during clinical and explain your actions and evaluation of the situation. Be honest and reflective about what went well and what could have been improved. Consider the potential consequences of your actions, both positive and negative.
Remember to proofread your paper for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors. Use proper APA formatting and citation guidelines for any sources you reference.
