Posted: May 5th, 2020
Throughout this course, you have had the opportunity to develop care plans and concept maps on the main topics. How has the development of care plans and concept maps helped you understand the material and what resources did you find most helpful?
Please make an initial post by midweek, and respond to at least two other student’s posts with substantial details that demonstrate an understanding of the concepts, and critical thinking. Remember that your posts must exhibit appropriate writing mechanics including using proper language, cordiality, and proper grammar and punctuation. If you refer to any outside sources or reference materials be sure to provide proper attribution and/or citation. Initial post requirement must be 250 words minimum.
Throughout this course, I have found that developing care plans and concept maps has been a very helpful way to learn and understand the material. Care plans and concept maps require me to think critically about the patient’s condition, identify their needs, and develop a plan of care that is tailored to their individual needs. This process has helped me to develop a deeper understanding of the material, and has also given me the opportunity to practice my critical thinking skills.
In addition to helping me to learn the material, developing care plans and concept maps has also helped me to develop my communication skills. When I create a care plan or concept map, I need to be able to clearly and concisely communicate my thoughts and ideas to others. This has been a valuable skill to develop, as it will be essential for me to be able to communicate effectively with my colleagues and patients in the future.
The most helpful resources that I have found for developing care plans and concept maps are the following:
Nursing textbooks: Nursing textbooks provide a comprehensive overview of the nursing process, and can be a valuable resource for identifying patient needs and developing a plan of care.
Nursing journals: Nursing journals often publish articles that provide evidence-based practice guidelines for the treatment of specific conditions. These guidelines can be very helpful for developing care plans and concept maps that are based on the latest research.
Online resources: There are a number of online resources that can be helpful for developing care plans and concept maps. These resources often provide templates and examples that can be used as a starting point for developing your own care plans and concept maps.
I would encourage all nursing students to take advantage of the opportunity to develop care plans and concept maps. These tools can be a very helpful way to learn and understand the material, and can also help you to develop your critical thinking and communication skills.
In response to other students’ posts, I would be happy to provide feedback and suggestions on their care plans and concept maps. I would also be happy to discuss the material in more detail, and to answer any questions that they may have.
