Content Sections
Once you have obtained at least five responses you will use
the responses you receive, course readings, peer-reviewed research, and other
relevant resources to complete the following sections.
Section 1: Why Ethical Behavior is Important
In this section you should explicitly address the following
questions and support your conclusions using appropriate course readings and
peer-reviewed resources.

·
Why is ethical behavior in business important?
·
Why is important for you as an individual to
maintain a high level of ethical behavior? Why is it important to maintain high
ethical standards of behavior?

Note: This section
should be no longer-than 1 page.
Section 2: Factors that Contribute to Unethical Behavior
In this section you should explicitly address the following
questions and support your conclusions using appropriate course readings and
peer-reviewed resources.

·
Why is there often a gap between our imagined or
ideal ethical behavior and our actual ethical behavior? That is, why is it that
even good people need help to do the ethical thing at times? Why is it
important to recognize this gap?
·
What are three factors (or human biases) that
contribute to people making poor ethical decisions and engaging in unethical
behavior?
o
These factors could include Bandura’s principles
of moral disengagement, barriers to ethical decision making discussed by
Bazerman and Tenbrunsel, or any of the factors discussed by Ariely or in our
other readings this semester
o
Be sure to explicitly name and fully describe
each factor
o
Each factor should be addressed separately
(i.e., this section should include at least 3 sub-sections)
o
Be sure to describe exactly how the factor
contributes to unethical behavior and/or decision making

Note: This section
should be no longer-than 2.5 pages.
Section 3: Maintaining Ethical Standards
Having now considered why it is important to keep ethical
standards and factors that make it difficult to maintain ethical standards, you
will use this section to identify practices to help you keep high ethical
standards.

In this section you should explicitly address the following
questions and support your conclusions using appropriate course readings and
peer-reviewed resources.

·
How many people did you send the survey request
to? How many completed surveys did you receive?
·
What are three to four of the primary themes
that you observed from the survey responses that you received? That is, what
are the most important things that you learned from the survey responses that
you received?
·
Describe (in great detail), three practices,
habits, or interventions that you plan to put into place to help yourself live
up to the highest ethical standards of behavior.
o
Be sure to explicitly name and fully describe
each habit, practice, or intervention
o
Each habit should be addressed separately (i.e.,
this section should include at least 3 sub-sections)
o
Be sure to describe one or more factors that
were (or could have been addressed) in section 2 that this habit explicitly
addresses (and why). That is, what factors that contribute to unethical
behavior do you expect the habit to help mitigate (and why)?
o
Explicitly support the inclusion of the habit
based on course readings, peer-reviewed research, and/or survey responses that
you received.

Note: This section
should be no longer-than 3.5 pages.
